Tax Payment Services
Your Provisional Income Tax First Instalment is due to be paid on 28 Aug 2025.
Tax Agency & Reminder Service:
The income tax regime is a living beast as your tax bill is constantly in flux. Variables that can influence your tax payable are, increases or decreases in profit, changes in the tax rates, timing of filed returns, payments to correct & incorrect accounts, transfers, refunds, penalties, interest, losses carried forward or back, IRD errors, to name a few.
Our goal is to give you peace of mind that we are looking after your income tax affairs, making sure that you are receiving the correct refunds, and that you are advised of any payments required to pay to IRD in a timely manner.
This service we provide comprises the following:
- Processing IRD notices of assessment
- Acting as your tax agent with the IRD
- Keeping you up to date with tax legislation
- Reviewing your account to advise you of overdue Income Tax amounts
- Extension of time for filing income tax returns (12 months after balance date instead of 3 months)
- Notifying you of any payments to be made to IRD (if required), 3-4 weeks in advance of payment
- Handling simple queries (queries that can be resolved in 10 minutes) on your behalf with the IRD
- Checking any refunds due to you and following up if there are delays
- Ensuring losses to be carried forward have been approved by the IRD and will be noted in your next tax return
- 10-minute quick queries in respect of your tax affairs
- Access to online tax help webinars hosted by DVA
This will be invoiced each year on 31 July and covers the following 12 months.
Due to the ever-changing tax environment, you will need to opt-out on a yearly basis.
Please see below for your options to opt out of this service.
Tax Calendar:
Get your peace of mind free from worry and uncertainty about your tax.
A tax calendar paints your 'tax picture' for the next 18 months, so you know you are not short at tax time and can manage your cash-flow efficiently.
It also shows you the amounts that are subject to change. This allows you to be proactive to ensure you are not caught on any changes.
And if you’re short there are some creative ways we can assist with financing your tax and saving you on IRD interest and penalties and keeping the IRD off your case.
The price for this service starts at $250+GST.

If your circumstances have changed and the tax amounts assessed are either too low or too high, we provide a Tax Payment Review service.
This service we provide comprises the following:
- Reviewing the tax liabilities of the entities requested
- Reviewing the entities performance and the corresponding tax effect
- Adjusting the tax liability so tax is not overpaid or underpaid
- Ensuring you do not incur IRD late payment penalties or interest
The price for this service starts at $450+GST per review.

Flexible Tax Payments:
If for whatever reason you do not have enough cash to meet your tax obligations as they fall due, or you would like to be strategic with your cashflow, we can be flexible with your tax payments up to 75 days after terminal tax date. For example, regarding income tax for the year ending 31 March 2024 tax payments can be spread t0 18 June 2025.
This service depends on the individual’s circumstances as for what is specifically required. There is an interest charge for this service and the interest rates vary depending on the plan put in place. On average we estimate that the interest cost is 30% lower than the IRD’s use of money interest rate, and IRD late payment penalties can be eliminated.
The price for this service will be scoped on a case by case basis and will be agreed upon upfront.

Opting out of the Tax Agency & Reminder Service:
You may or may not be aware that the IRD has undergone and is continuing to undergo a transformation of their services. By streamlining their processes, policies, and upgrading their online services their goal is to make it easier for you to pay your tax and receive your entitlements.
We have found to date that there are still a few bugs in this system (as with any new system), and the IRD’s increased activity in this space has increased the administration DVA is doing on behalf our clients.
Due to the complexity of the tax system, we believe that DVA should be acting for all our clients in this space. However, those that are familiar with the new online tax system and have experience with how the wider tax system works (for example, understand the provisional tax regime) could manage this on their own.
